Several years ago I read somewhere, "if you want to keep your sanity after 40, be creative".  I'm not sure about the actual quote, but that part had impact.

Heartstrings was born at the very end of 2000 to feed my creativity but the seed was planted much earlier.

Heartstrings found it's beginnings as a small idea in my laundryroom, but over the course of only
a few of months it developed into so much more.   While we remain a small well loved enterprise;  Heartstrings bracelets have made their way into over 42 states and  countries including the UK, France, Thailand, Indonesia, Paraguay, Peru, Guam and Japan.  I have had the pleasure of designing bracelets for Laura Bush, Dyan Cannon and Rosie O'Donnell.

I've been married to Tim for 25 years, and a stay at home mom for 20.  As a homeschool family, our life is constant movement, challenge and clutter.   We are a busy family with three children; Kaley (19), Kyle (16) and Chloe (13);  a yellow lab named Daisy and Sam the orange tabby that hates her.  We are active in our church family and the Central Florida community.

Family is life.  We cherish every moment.   We camp together, travel, play and in general just experience life.

I'd love to hear from you.  In spite of the busyness of everyday, our turn around time is remarkable and we guarantee every piece!!  You won't be disappointed.
I had a phone call recently from a client who told me of her friend, whom she had given a bracelet. The woman was a wonderful, doting mother of two precious girls and led a very active life.   She knew her friend loved her bracelet, but rarely saw her wearing it.  Then one of her sweet girls underwent surgery and was faced with a long recouperation.  Mom now finds a special joy in wearing her bracelet and keeping her girls foremost in her thoughts.   Her bracelet has become a steadfast reminder of her most precious of gifts.
Yes, I wear my mommy bracelet every day!!
On my home page you probably saw a bracelet for breast cancer awareness.  I actually designed this bracelet by request from a customer after sharing with her my recent diagnosis.   This is the bracelet I wear and it's especially important to me because it opens a door for conversation and it reminds me of where my hope lies.

In March, 2003 I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma.  The prognosis seemed bleak considering the size of the tumor and the prospect of what lie ahead scared me.  But God is good.  I was surrounded with family and friends who loved me, cared for me and prayed for my healing; and God healed me in March 2003.  Not immediate, instant healing, but progressive healing.  I would follow a traditional course of medicine and thank God every day for healing me.

As of today, I have had a mastectomy, eight rounds of chemotherapy and 33 days of radiation therapy.  While the surgery slowed me down for about three days, the chemo and radiation had effected me very little.

It seems that everyone I know has been affected by breast cancer, either by first hand experience or through a loved one.  I've learned not to curse my circumstances; we all go through the wilderness and God loves the desert.  It's here that we cry out to Him and trust that He will see us through.

My doctors have told me that my cancer is gone.  That I do not have breast cancer any more.  Currently I'm 3 years post cancer.  What will tomorrow bring, I don't know.  I surely didn't anticipate the events of 2003, but of one thing I am certain.  That God loves us.  So many people have touched me through this experience and I wouldn't change a thing.
